💌 Fab at Fifty Plus: Your Midlife Love Letter

Issue No. 9 – Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Hey Fab Fam,

Have you ever had one of those conversations that makes you reflect on your life?

The other day, my sister and I were reminiscing about the good old days, you know, the ones where we actually had a social life and went out and did things. And somewhere between the laughter and memories, she brought up something I’d said years ago to a friend.

It made me pause.

I said that?

Apparently, I had. What I said hadn’t been kind. It wasn’t overtly cruel, but it definitely wasn’t who I am now. I was surprised, not just because I didn’t remember saying it, but because I couldn’t imagine myself saying something like that now.

That moment made me pause and reflect. I realized that the version of me who said that was no more. Back then I was a little rougher around the edges. I was more reactive. I said what I felt, even if it landed too hard. I wasn’t trying to be mean, but looking back? I was. Unintentionally, sure. But still.

The wild thing is, I hadn’t really noticed that I’d changed.

But I had.

We all do.

It’s funny how growth works. You don’t always feel it in real time. We’re not walking around measuring our progress with a ruler every day. It’s usually a moment like that—that holds up a mirror and says, look how far you’ve come.

So I just want to remind you of something:

If you’re being hard on yourself right now…
If you think you should be further along…
If you feel like you haven’t done enough…

Pause.
Breathe.
Reflect on how far you have actually grown.

You’re not who you used to be. You’re stronger, you’re wiser, and the best thing is that you’re still growing.

And whether anyone has said it to you lately or not, be proud of how far you’ve come.

This week, check in with yourself. Not to judge. Not to fix. Just to witness the beautiful, complicated, strong-as-hell woman you’ve become.

You’re still becoming. And that’s the magic of midlife.

With love and light,

No matter how you answered, here’s your gentle reminder:
Growth isn’t always loud or obvious.
Sometimes it shows up in quieter ways: how you hold your tongue, how you choose peace over proving a point, how you show up for yourself a little more than you used to.

You’re evolving, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.
Keep going. You’re doing better than you think.

🔄 Mindset Reset of the Week

Let go of: “I haven’t changed much.”
Claim this instead: “My growth may be quiet, but it’s powerful.”

Just because your growth hasn’t been loud doesn’t mean it isn’t real.
The way you respond differently, the peace you choose, the softness you’ve learned, that’s all evidence of evolution.

You’re not behind. You’re blooming.

📓 Journal Prompt for Reflection

Prompt:"When was the last time you truly noticed how much you’ve changed?

The other day, I realized I had changed in ways I hadn’t even noticed.
What about you? When was the last time you paused to really see how much you’ve grown? Reflect on that. Let yourself name the ways that you’ve stepped into a wiser version of you.
